A beautiful blend of softness, an incredible sense of style and vintage-inspired tenderness: that’s what immediately comes to mind when we think of Marine’s world. Her everyday life is shaped by motherhood with Héloïse, new beginnings and the power of love. The perfect mix for a Mum Talk!
Could you introduce yourself in a few words?
My name is Marine, and I’m the mum of a 3-year-old little girl named Héloïse. I’m a teacher, but this year I decided to take some time for myself and train in a subject I’m passionate about: children’s sleep.
As you can probably tell, the world of childhood plays a big part in my life.
What kind of mum are you?
A mum who is always there and ready to listen. I was lucky enough to have a mother who was completely devoted to her role as a mum and was there for me throughout my childhood, and I wanted to give my own children the same.
I’m far from being a perfect mum. I’m not always very patient, and sometimes I don’t necessarily feel like playing every game my daughter suggests. But she knows that I am, and always will be, there for her, ready to listen and to share in all the joys and difficult moments she may go through and want to confide in me.
3 words to describe motherhood?
Unpredictable, magical and powerful.
What advice do you wish someone had given you?
To learn more about children’s sleep. We really struggled because of how little we knew about the subject, and it remains quite a difficult memory. Thankfully, that’s behind us now!
What does a typical day in your life look like?
I always wake up before everyone else so I can have 30 minutes just for myself: a nice shower, my skincare routine, and then I’m ready for the day.
A good family breakfast is a must. Then I drop my daughter off at school and head home to take care of everything that comes with being a parent at home!
As I’ve taken this year off work, I’m able to be 100% present for my daughter every day. It takes an incredible amount of energy, but I know how lucky I am to be able to share all these moments with her. Time goes by far too quickly!
Marine, unconditional motherhood
